Catching up on movies! I still had a bunch of them so here’s another movies I watched post! There is quite a theme – holiday movies! Well, except for The Broken Hearts Gallery.
Sometimes, all you need is a holiday rom-com. I don’t care what anybody says, I enjoyed this movie! Like I always say, what do you really expect when you start playing a romantic comedy? Of course, it is going to be the same formula. It’s not that deep.
Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey have chemistry and I think this is mainly why this movie worked! (I am watching another rom-com, The Broken Hearts Gallery, and I couldn’t get through it because the two main leads have zero chemistry!) I remember Luke Bracey from Monte Carlo and he totally could be a Hemsworth brother. LOL.
Also, I can relate so much to Aunt Susan! Why do I feel like I will be her in 15 years?! But maybe I can find my own Farooq when I’m 49? LOL!
The Broken Hearts Gallery (2020)
I kind of had difficulty getting into this movie. I had to stop it the first time I started watching it and continued it another day. There’s just no chemistry between the two leads. I do think it got better as the movie progressed, but I’m still not convinced. There’s really something about Dacre Montgomery. He’s just so sexy and dreamy! It’s those lashes! LOL!
Ok, this was bad. I didn’t even laugh one bit. Also, I love Kat Dennings and I wish they can make another season of Dollface, but damn, she acts the same way in every character she does. LOL. I could say the same for Jane Seymour. She always plays this type of character. I think the only interesting thing about the movie is that Malin Akerman and Jack Donnelly are actually married in real life.
The Princess Switch: Switched Again (2020)
I had to restart this twice because I was doing something else while watching it and I got confused with the switch. LOL.
I mean, we knew what we were expecting when we start a movie like this. Also, if you have seen the first movie then you definitely know what to expect. I mean, it’s your typical feel-good holiday rom-com and it works! We get our third Vanessa Hudgens this time around, playing Fiona Pembroke, Margaret’s cousin. I mean, I don’t mind getting a fourth Vanessa Hudgens if ever there was a third movie.
I just have three things to ask / point out:
- What is the geography like in this movie? How are Stacy and Edward able to go to Chicago first “on the way” to Montenaro? I mean, I have always thought that Belgravia and Montenaro are in Europe. I mean, visiting Chicago before going to Montenaro is kind of out of the way, right?
- The cameo by the cast of A Christmas Prince – wasn’t Stacy watching the movie in the first Princess Switch? What is going on here?! LOL.
- I am just amazed by Stacy, Margaret, and Fiona’s accents.
Operation Christmas Drop (2020)
Okay, this was actually so touching and heartwarming! The love story between the two main characters is just a bonus, I guess. The movie is primarily about Operation Christmas Drop that is a tradition that started in 1952. Brother Bruce is even a real person and played himself in the movie! I actually really liked this movie because it is based on real events!
