Can’t believe we’ve been here for 6 weeks! We have decided to extend our stay (once again!) until the end of March. ^^
For Valentine’s Day, we decided we wanted to take a vacation from our workcation and stay overnight somewhere else. It’s not that we’re sick of our current home, we just wanted to do a little Valentine’s celebration. We were initially planning to book another room at one of other Henann beach resorts, but while doing so, I saw that Fairways and Bluewater Boracay is more within our budget so we booked here instead. Nope, we didn’t spend 15k on a room for one night, because they were offering the room for only PHP4,200 on Agoda. That was a total steal so we decided to book it for Feb 14th.
Since we’re staying in Diniwid, we would pass by Fairways and Bluewater Boracay on the way back home. The gate is located just right outside City Mall. We would always ask ourselves, “Why is it always so dark here? Is there no one checking in?” We got our answer upon arrival at the hotel. Because of the pandemic, only one building with one pool is opened for guests. It is quite a drive from the entrance so of course, you won’t see any lights from the main road.
We found our check-in process so funny because we literally just walked from home with our backpacks, knocked at the guard house, and told the nice lady guard that we’re checking in. LOL. We were then led to a waiting area, well, to wait for the shuttle that will take us to the reception area. Right from the moment we set foot in that place, we felt the amazing customer service just by anyone that worked there. We booked a Superior Room and they were super nice to have upgraded our room to one that had direct pool access. We were definitely super happy about the upgrade because we don’t have to use the elevator path to get to the pool. The only time we’ve probably used that was when we had to go to the restaurant and when we went out to the private beach.
Fairways and Bluewater Boracay is a huge place. It’s the largest beachfront resort in Boracay, and if my memory serves me right, it’s 80 hectares of land. Due to the pandemic, they are unable to operate at full capacity, therefore their rooms are discounted. You aren’t able to experience that they normally offer. I think only one building and pool is open, which is the Lucia Pool. The restaurant in this building is called We Chill Gastropub, which also operates the pool bar. Then, they have the Laguna Café opened for breakfast. If you’d like to go to the private beach, you can ask the reception and they will charter a shuttle for you. Yes, the activities are limited but just take note that you are paying a small amount of money, compared to what they normally charge, to experience this amazing resort. We definitely didn’t have any complaints because we did enjoy our 24 hours and were very thankful for the exceptional customer service.
We definitely spent our afternoon just hanging out by the infinity pool, the jacuzzi and pool bar. We hoarded the jacuzzi during the late afternoon when everyone was back in their rooms, probably preparing for dinner. We didn’t bother going out for dinner because we can do that another time. That weekend, we wanted to just stay at the resort. They have happy hour at We Chill Gastropub so we definitely took advantage. Then, when we had to leave to prepare for dinner, they said we can order now and then just serve it in time for dinner, which we said to do so at around 8:30pm. We got off the jacuzzi pretty late. LOL.
Since it was Valentine’s Day, we also witnessed a proposal, you guys! There was a setup when we arrived at the dining area for dinner and we immediately knew what was about to go down. It was just the couple, plus the guy who serenaded them who I think is their friend. So the staff and we were the only witnesses to their engagement. We loved everything we are for dinner. We had a pizza Margherita, sweet potato fries, and some salmon spaghetti. The sweet potato fries were so sulit, we had to order them again while having our drinks. We then moved to our room, where we watched a Polish movie called Love Squared.
We were planning to wake up at 6am so we can go to the private beach early, but obviously, we failed. LOL. It was also raining a bit that morning so it was hard to get up. LOL. We had breakfast at Laguna Café and we actually had to request for rice for Irick and we were expecting that they will charge us extra when we check out but they didn’t. It’s the small things, y’all. Their breakfast is your normal silog meals but for me, it’s really the service that makes everything better. You get unlimited refill of coffee as well. But I only had one. My friend, Irick, is vegetarian and we didn’t know that you can actually request for a vegan breakfast option. We ordered American breakfast for her, but yes, a vegan breakfast can be requested. Just a though for the future.
After breakfast, we went to the private beach. You can view the famous Boracay Keyhole from that beach. I actually don’t know the name of the actual beach, but the sign says Paradise Cove Beach. There is also a pool in here, but it is currently closed. We only stayed for about an hour and just took photos because it was still raining. Good thing, there is a cave so that’s where we stayed when it’s raining. The view from here is freaking amazing though. I don’t know if we can actually walk from here to the keyhole, but we didn’t because it was so damn far. LOL.
We spent our last hour just chilling at our favorite spot – the jacuz.
Eventhough it was just one night, we definitely enjoyed our stayed at Fairways and Bluewater Boracay. If you ever find yourself in Boracay, take advantage of the discounted room rates and book here. Yes, it will not be the same as when the resort is operating at full capacity but the staff will make sure your experience will be awesome. Everyone is so freaking nice, from the reception, to the lifeguard, to the restaurant staff. On Monday noon, we were back in our Diniwid accommodation and ready for another work week, while wishing to go back to that freaking weekend at Fairways and Bluewater Boracay.
