I’m so excited for this because it’s the day when we went to Misibis Bay! Ok, I must admit that I was hesitant to book a day tour for Misibis during our trip planning days because I thought it’s too expensive! I’m glad though that we did it! Ok, we woke up early because we had to be in Venezia Hotel by 8:00 AM cause that’s where the pickup is for the shuttle service going to Misibis Bay. I woke up early because I wanted to see the Mayon Volcano during sunrise. Too bad, it was kinda shy.

Shy Mayon.

We left our hotel at around 7:00 AM, we took a tricycle to the hotel. It’s quite near our hotel and it’s located inside a subdivision. We still had time so we had coffee while waiting. Celine ordered pasta and we helped her finish it. Hahaha.

At Hotel Venezia!

The shuttle service left at exactly 8:00 AM. Misibis Bay is located in Cagraray Island in Bacacay, Bicol and that’s an hour away from Legazpi. The van was very comfortable because there were only 7 of us inside. Ok, gotta say though, the van ride to Misibis was like a rollercoaster! It was also like that when we took the bus from Caramoan to Naga. The view was super amazing though! It must be really nice to live in Legazpi because when you look to the left, you’d see Mayon, on the right, the sea. I would so love to live here!

LOL! Blurred groufie inside the van!

We arrived in Misibis Bay at past 9:00 AM. Ok, so their daytour is โ‚ฑ1,750 because we went on a weekend (Sunday). It’s cheaper on weekdays. It’s consumable though. We took the shuttle and that costs โ‚ฑ750. Anyway, the only thing we’ll spend on while in the resort is food and that’s where we spent our remaining credits. They have a lot of activities but they’re quite expensive. There are a lot of activities and facilities which you can use for free though. Towels are also given for free and you can use as many as you want. They’re located everywhere. We changed into our swimsuits and roamed around the resort, took tons of pictures. We’re so lucky that the weather’s so much better that day! We finally got to see the sun! Hahaha!

Welcome drinks~
Just chillin under the puno~
Look at the bar behind me! That’s super awesome!
My favoritest photo in Misibis! This could seriously be a photo for an ad or sth! Hahaha!
Sooo lovin the weather!

We swam a bit in the pool, killed some time by playing table tennis. At around 11:00 AM, we went to the dinner hall to have lunch. We were the first ones there. LOL. I think we had lunch until almost 1:00 PM. Hello, we’ve been waiting for lunch all morning! Hahahaha!

After lunch, we wanted to do videoke but there was a huge group of people who beat us to it. Rina and Celine decided to play some pool while I went off to Jadineland. LOL, I just checked some IG updates about Jadine. Hahaha. After their game, the group was still at the videoke room so we just gave up. We went back to the pool and played around. It’s so cool that they have a bar adjacent to the pool so you can actually drink while swimming. We wanted to have at least one bottle of San Mig but we ended up not doing it. We don’t want to be so drunk, we’re left behind by the shuttle going back to Legazpi. LOL.

We decided to shower at around 3:30 PM because we wanted to get some merienda before leaving the resort. We shared halo halo and turones de leche flan – this was super yummy! The halo halo was kind of sad though cause they used chocolate ice cream. I don’t know, I guess I’m just used to either ube or strawberry, or any ice cream with a lively color, not brown. ๐Ÿ™ We checked out and we’re surprised to find out that we only had to pay โ‚ฑ70 more. We thought that after our lunch buffet, we don’t really have enough credits for merienda anymore. Hahaha.

Our van driver going back to Legazpi was the best though! SERIOUSLY! He took our photos in front of the Misibis Bay sign. Then we left early, maybe 10 minutes early so we can go back to the city early. He kept stopping in random places just so we can take photos of the view or of the Mayon. Seriously, Mayon is so beautiful during sunset! He would even take the photos for us! Super supportive!!! We have to credit him for the wonderful photos we took that day with the Mayon in the background! He also entertained us with his stories about the Mayon and the owner of Misibis Bay. The best part though was, I’m sure it’s not part of the service anymore but he took us to this place where you can buy pasalubongs. We thought that he was just going to drop us off but he actually waited for us to finish shopping (which wasn’t very long) and then dropped us off at the gate of our hotel. Impeccable service! I took note of his name, Red. Misibis CEO, please give this guy a raise! ๐Ÿ™‚

We were near Legazpi na so malaki na si Mayon ๐Ÿ™‚

I was actually impressed with Misibis Bay’s service. They never disappointed us in any way. There was just one miss, they forgot that we did the lunch buffet. Although, I remember that a guy crossed us out from the list when we entered the lunch area. I guess there was just some miscommunication. But overall, we had an awesome time in Misibis Bay! It was truly worth the money we paid! ๐Ÿ™‚

Kwentahan portion

We had dinner at Lugaw King. I’m so proud of us for eating at restaurants that can only be found in Bicol! In all fairness, we don’t see a lot of the usual establishments like Jolibee, McDonald’s, Starbucks etc. I think it’s a good sign! It means that Bicolanos support local businesses more! There’s one more that I wanted to try – Graceland – since I see its billboard everywhere. Too bad, we didn’t get the chance to eat there. ๐Ÿ™

Our flight going back to Manila on the 28th is at 10:00 AM so we had to wake up early. Also, we had to go to Cagsawa Ruins to get a better glimpse of the Mayon. We woke up at 5:00 AM and I almost didn’t want to go because I was too sleepy. Thank goodness, I decided to get my ass off the bed or I would have missed the majestic Mayon! We’re lucky because we saw its beautiful cone so early in the morning! Even before leaving our hotel, Ate Rina and I went to the rooftop during sunrise to see Mayon and we were able to see it without the clouds at its tip. I think we’re very lucky because they say that not a lot of people actually see it without it.

We took a tricycle to Cagsawa Ruins and it cost โ‚ฑ150. Ok, we knew that taking the jeep would be much cheaper but we wanted to get there fast since we’re pressed for time and it’s our first time going there so we didn’t really want to get lost. We were told that we still need to take another tricycle or walk to Cagsawa Ruins so we thought it would be a better idea to take the tricycle all the way there. It’s a good decision though to not have the tricycle driver wait for us and take us back to Legazpi, because it would’ve taken us โ‚ฑ300 back and forth.

It’s a good thing we got there so early because we got to take pictures in peace. I seriously love all the pictures I took from here. It’s so surreal, Mayon is so beautiful, it’s like looking at a live painting or something. I haven’t traveled to a lot of places but Mayon seriously took my breath away. You know how some famous places don’t really live up to what they look like in pictures versus in real life? Mayon is breathtaking both on photos and in real life. Even now as I write this blog entry, I have a smile on my face just talking about Mayon. I still talk about Mayon to my friends randomly and I always gush about it. I FREAKING LOVE MAYON <3

Very postcard-like <3

We spent about an hour or so there and went back at 7:00 AM. We took the jeepney from Daraga to Legazpi and then walked back to our hotel. We still had a lot of time left before our flight but we went straight to the airport anyway. It’s very near our hotel but since we have our stuff with us, we took the tricycle going there and we only paid โ‚ฑ50. There’s a view of the Mayon as well from the airport but it’s blocked by some big rock. Bummer. The most awesome view though before leaving was from the plane. You can still see it’s tip from the plane. Super majestic!

Bye Riserr!
Can you see? Can you see?
Goodbye Bicol~ It’s been fun!

It took only about 30 minutes from Legazpi to Manila. We had lunch at McDonald’s before separating. I still had to go to work at 2:00 PM and I arrived there pretty early – 1:00 PM. I was welcomed by the news that Leo diCaprio won an Oscar. YAAAAAY.

So yeah, that sums up my Bicol experience. Long travel hours, good food, Mayon <3
