It’s our last day in Ilocos and the only thing that’s left in our itinerary is the Vigan Heritage Tour. And since it’s our last day, we left the townhouse a little later than usual. Let’s just say, it was more chill since we’re not in a hurry. On the way to Calle Crisologo, we passed by a roadside stall where we bought Ilocos vinegar and garlic. Well, they did. I went out for a bit to take some photos then went back and stayed inside the van. LOL. When we reached Vigan’s town proper, we went to eat first cause it was so hot. We then went to Vigan Church and then started walking to the kalesa parking area.

Riding a kalesa is a must in Vigan! We realized that this is also the place where the Bantay Bell Tower is – we went there on the first day. We then went to the pottery place where we bought some souvenirs. I just bought a shirt then went back to the kalesa. I’m not very big on buying souvenirs. Just a shirt and some food is fine with me. Then, we were dropped of on Calle Crisologo. We passed by Crisologo Museum but didn’t stop. I wanted to go back to take a look but man, it was super hot! 🙁
We stayed for a very long time on that street because it’s pasalubong haven! I just looked around, took some photos, ate ice cream… At the end of that street, there’s this famous store – Tiongson – where you can buy different Ilocos delicacies like chichacorn, banana chips, and their very delicious bibingka. Since it’s a popular store, the line was very long. It’s fine though because it was worth it. I wish I bought more bibingka though!

After buying all our pasalubongs, we went back to the van and started our road trip back to Manila. We ate lunch somewhere outside Vigan – at a place where there’s nobody else was. LOL. Restaurants near Calle Crisologo are all packed! Hours later, we had dinner somewhere in Sison, Pangasinan – that was around 9:00 PM. I was asleep the whole time and I just wake every time we have to eat. LOL! I would very much recommend that last restaurant though – too bad, I don’t remember the name. UGH. It’s crowded but they’re very organized so it didn’t take forever for us to order our food.
After dinner, the next time I woke up, we were already near Glorietta 4. I asked to be dropped off there so I can take a cab home. I hurriedly place in my stuff inside my bag and got off the van, retrieved my longganisa from the driver and said goodbye to everyone. It was pretty quick and I was still kinda groffy having just woken up from a long sleep. That was a few minutes before 2:00 AM. At around 2:15 AM, I was home.
I slept for a long time so I didn’t get to sleep immediately after arriving at our apartment. My roommate and I ate the bibingka before it goes bad. I swear, I seriously should have bought more. It was the best thing I bought in Ilocos! LOL!
So that concludes my Ilocos trip. The wonderful but very very butt-numbing Ilocos trip. 🙂
