Quarantine Diaries # 10: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Ok, so it’s been a while since I have done this. LOL. First of all, Merry Christmas! Happy New Year!

Virtual Office Christmas Party

We had our company virtual Christmas Party on Dec 18th. Since I live close to our office and we can come physically if we want to, I decided why not since it’s just going to be a few people anyway. There were only 8 of us in the office so it’s definitely a small group. I was able to see my TL after such a long time and was able to give her some sort of Christmas present. ^^

I really missed our office! This is only my third visit since we started working from home in mid-March. (I went here in August to get a cheque from SSS and in November to get a replacement laptop.) I’m glad that they decorated the office for the holiday season! We are not required to work, but since June, some of our colleagues would come to the office to work if they would like to.

Hopefully, we’ll be able to get together for real for Christmas 2021.

Merry Christmas! Happy New Year!

We don’t really have Christmas or New Year’s traditions, we make some food and eat. That is it. This year, I didn’t really have my mother make a lot of food, instead, I ordered instead. She still made some desserts. The bida ng Pasko fruit salad will always be there! Dang, I don’t even have photos everything I ate. LOL. I had work on both days (Dec 24th and 31st).

Our landlady have our cake, too, and my brother brought home roasted chicken from the restaurant where he works.

My brother didn’t come home for New Year’s so it’s just me and my mother at home.

Braces update!

I went to my first adjustment on Jan 7th. I need to go every 3 weeks and I had two brackets that were removed and the wires have been removed from my end brackets. They’re fine though because they are still attached, just moving around. I also changed the elastics on my brackets, I chose light blue this time. I am not really concerned if they will make my teeth whiter or whatever because at the end of the day, I have metal braces on my teeth. LOL. So far, it has been okay, some of my teeth were painful, but not as painful as when I first had it on.

I might not be able to get my adjustments until early March so I had to ask my dentist about how that will affect my treatment. She said it will take longer since I will miss a few adjustments (two actually, Jan 28th and Feb 18th). I hope I don’t encounter any problems while I am away.

Which brings me to my next topic…

Boracay plans

I might spend a month working and staycationing in Boracay. That is, if everything goes well. We were supposed to be in Japan in the end of January for Irick’s birthday, but our flight was cancelled in November. At the same time, Boracay has reopened so we decided to book flights there instead around the same time. My flight is on Jan 28th and was supposed to stay until Feb 2nd. I didn’t really do any research on the new normal policies in Boracay and watched vlogs until this week. Then, I saw this girl who has been staying in Boracay for two months and then I had this crazy idea of doing the same. Well, just for a month for starters. My two friends, Gelai and Irick are down so we moved / rebooked our return flight and looked for a place to stay in until March 1st.

At this point, I am very anxious about the whole thing because we still need to pass the swab test (err, negative). I will talk more about the details once I’m sure that I would be able to leave. I don’t want to jinx it, but I do hope I can go and everything will push through.

I will finish all my errands this week because I would like to complete a 2-week quarantine before my swab test on Jan 25th. Best of luck to me. LOL.

Talk to me~
